How to play with Flash player in 2020
Greetings  catanist friends!

Here is a trick to still play Solito Catan with the Shockwaveflash plugin:

1) install firefox 73.0.1
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/73.0.1/win64/en-CA/

Download, install and run Firefox (Firefox will ask you to update itself, just say NO)

2) Within Firefox, get the Shockwave flashplugin
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Choose 'Download flash player'

Unfortunately, the download won't work but if you had already installed the plugin everything is in place to make it work:

The latest version of the Flash will NOT work, so you need to replace it with an older version.
Here is a zip file of the plugin that will work:
Flash.zip.

Download it and unzipped it, you will see several files in a folder named 'Flash'.

The tricky part is to remove the old files, because there are in a protected folder, and replace them with the files from this zip.
Files you want to delete are at this location: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\flash and you want to copy all the files from the zip into this location.

In order to do that you must have administrator privileges so here is how to do it:
a) Create a shortcut of explorer.exe on your desktop (explorer.exe is in C:\Windows\)
b) Right click this shortcut and choose 'run as administrator', confirm with Yes.
c) go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed and click on the folder 'Flash' then choose 'properties'
d) go to 'Security' tab then choose 'Advanced...' button.
e) you should see 'TrustedInstaller' as Owner, click on 'change'
f) click 'Advanced...' then 'Find now', then choose in the list below 'ADMINISTRATOR', click Ok until you get back to 'Owner' where it should now be 'Administrator'
g) While you are still there, select Administrator in the list below and make sure he has 'Full Control'. If you see a confirmation prompt, it s just a warming, confirm!
h) Close the property window. You should still be in explorer as administrator in this folder: The folder 'C:\Windows\System32\Macromed'. now, go into 'Flash' sub-folder.
i) You should be able to delete all files in the 'C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\flash' folder, then copy the files from the 'Flash' folder that you unzipped and paste them into 'C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\flash'.

Your flash plugin should now work as it was before December 2020!

3) Quit Firefox, now we will disable the annoying update prompt...

4) if you are on PC, go to 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox'
create a sub-directory 'distribution' if it doesn't exist.
so the path should be 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\distribution'.

download disable-firefox63-update-policy.zip, then extract it (unzip it).
copy the file 'policie.json' into this folder: 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\distribution'.

This will prevent firefox from asking you everytime to update it.

5) restart Firefox

Mac Users: You may want to get the mac version here:
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/73.0.1/

On Mac, the file 'policie.json' goes into Firefox.app/Contents/Resources/distribution
